Today marks the end of my month-long visit in New Jersey. Tomorrow I’m off on the bus to Twin Oaks, an intentional community in rural Virginia. I’ve never spent time at TO before; in fact, I’ve never been to an intentional community other than Dancing Rabbit, so I’m pretty interested to see what’s going on in their neck of the woods. Twin Oaks has nearly 100 members and is totally income-sharing, so it’s quite a different arrangement than DR.
I’ll be glad to enter into my “preferred culture” again, since a month here in New Jersey is pretty rough for me. Being in this type of environment for too long, I get pretty easily frustrated and sour about many a thing. I just don’t think I’m made to live in the suburbs, to put it nicely.
