This is a great series of images to show folks who are curious about what it is like to build with cob, and to give a look into all aspects of the construction process. The slideshow has been updated to include images of the “new look” of Gobcobatron, including the renovated terracotta tile floor and lime washed walls.

Hullo. I am Brian Liloia, but I am also called Ziggy. I currently live at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage. In April '08, I began building my own cob house with little prior construction experience, and in July '09, I moved in. Here I've documented the entire building process, and continue to share info. about living in an cob home, and my latest building projects. Things you can expect to learn about here include cob, straw bale, timber framing, hand tools, our new natural building workshops, & more. This is the Year of Mud.

Hey, great slide show, the space is great. I’m in the process of designing a similar space. Thanks for the detailed pics.
What advice would you give someone undertaking the same style of a project? Anything you would do different?

Ivan: My advice would depend largely on where you plan to build. There are indeed many things I would do differently — in fact, I wouldn’t build another fully cob house here in MO again. Our climate is too cold!
